Special Feature: Treasure trooper treasure hunt walkthrough

I originally spent a great deal of time and actually several years struggling through the $100 Treasuretrooper.com Treasure Hunt. The owners of the site claim that you can complete this hunt without using a credit card or fronting any money; technically, this is true, but it is very difficult to gain all of the pearls, gold coins, and platinum coins that you need without completing trials and offers that require a credit card.

The best walkthrough of the Treasure Hunt is from TheNetFool.com's Treasure Hunt Revealed Part 1 (http://www.thenetfool.com/treasure-hunt-part-1/) and Part 2 (http://www.thenetfool.com/treasure-hunt-part-2/). Below is just a simplfication of some of the Treasure Hunt requirements and the addition of Act 14 and Act 15, which aren't included in the original posts at TheNetFool.com.

For starters, you will need 203 Gold Coins, 15 Platinum Coins, and 23 Pearls to entirely complete the Treasure Hunt. These figures may be a little off, but it is certainly not more than this. Additionally, you will also need all of the Gems, all 6 Journal pages, and all 4 Map pieces. The Journal pages and Map pieces are all purchased from Mabutu's Hut, and this cost has been factored in the Gold coin figure already.

NOTE: Giving Mabutu $1 to feed his family in Mabutu's Currency Converter does nothing.

Getting All of the Gems

Don't mess around any longer. Get the Gems today.

Ruby - Pay 15 Gold Coins in Mabutu's Trading Hut.

Sapphire - Complete $100 worth of offers.

Emerald - Now, get 5 referrals that complete at least one offer. Don't try to cheat the referrals; you will get banned.

Amethyst - Earn $15 from Cash Back Shopping rebates. Honestly, just find the merchants that offer 40-50% cash back and make a $30-35 purchase. It'll be easiest that way.

Diamond - Purchase Mabutu's Secret for 15 Gold Coins from Mabutu's Trading Hut. He will give you a list of offers; you won't know which one it is, but upon completing one of those offers you will get the Diamond. If you forgot which offers they were, you may be screwed, but try emailing customer service to see if they can reset it for you.

Topaz - Complete 10 Daily Surveys. It may have to be #1 surveys because I didn't earn the Topaz until I had 10 #1 surveys but 15 total completed.

The $100 Treasure Hunt

It actually took me several years, from 2006-2009 to complete the treasure hunt. This was partly because I didn't really care about it until I started playing the Jungle Slots, which has a 1 pull-per-day limit until you complete the Hunt. The slot machine brightly advised me that I could lift the limit by completing the Treasure Hunt! So I did.

I have actually condensed the Treasure Hunt walkthrough and added some Acts that I couldn't find anywhere else. The bulk of the material I consulted came from The Net Fool (http://www.thenetfool.com) in addition to other internet forums and blogs.

Act One - You have to give 20 Gold Coins.
Act Two - Requires pages 1 and 2 of the Journal; these cost 10 Gold Coins per pages from Mabutu's Trading Hut. Also, you need the Ruby, which can be purchased for 15 coins. Total Cost - 35 Gold Coins.
Act Three - Requires 8 Pearls.
Act Four - Need page 3 of the Journal, costing 10 Gold Coins. Also requires Topaz gem, which you can get by completing 10 #1 Daily Surveys. I found this very aggravating because you generally need to stretch this out over a week.
Act Five - You don't need anything extra to move on.
Act Six - Requires the Emerald gem, which you need to get 5 referrals that complete at least one offer.
Act Seven - Requires 20 Gold Coins.
Act Eight - You actually get 7 Gold Coins back!
Act Nine - Requires 40 Gold Coins.
Act Ten - Requires 15 Pearls.
Act Eleven - You will need page 4 of the Journal. Also, the Sapphire gem, which requires you to complete $100 in offers.
Act Twelve - Requires 15 Platinum Coins.
Act Thirteen - You will need page 5 of the Journal. Also, the Amethyst gem, which requires you to earn $15 from Cash Back Shopping. Honestly, unless you are already planning on making a big purchase, find a merchant that offers 50% cash back, spend $30, and move on.
Act Fourteen - You will need page 6 of the Journal. Also, the Diamond - obtain the Diamond by purchasing Mabutu's Secret and completing all of the offers he lists; you only need to complete one to get the Diamond, but you won't know what one.
Act Sixteen - You get the $100!!!

You have earned the $100 cash.

Bonus: Jungle Slots

After you have completed the $100 Treasure Hunt, your 1 pull-per-day limit on the jungle slot machine will be lifted; you will now be able to complete 10 pulls each day. One pull costs 1 Gold Coin. There are 4 prizes you can earn (in addition to possibly winning a Gold Coin, Platinum Coin, Pearl, or $1 cash), which are Clara's Kiss, Cogg's Calculator, Mabutu's Spear, and Jack's Hat. There is a saying somewhere that the prize for collecting all 4 is 'great happiness.' Well, the prize is $100.

There is no trick to winning, you just have to keep spinning until you get all four.
